The idea of pets in the Peta context is quite convoluted and hard to ponder.

Here is an organization that is constantly harping on an animals rights, its needs, and wants but when talking about pets it throws all that to the wind.

According to Peta pets should not have the right to reproduce because it may cause some difficulties for pet owners who are unable to deal with the responsibilities of pet ownership.

And yet they support legal actions for "Companion Animals Be Treated As More Than Mere Property Under the Law!"

Sounds sort of like some sort of Orwellian/Nazi nightmare to me.

One of the reasons stated in the arguement for neutering is that it prevents testicular cancer. Great, now if we can get rid of those lungs and hearts we can take care of a lot of other killer problems such as lung cancer and heart attacks.
